How do you check the timing to make shure it is right

Did you pull the timing cover off yet? You can set the mechanical timing by the proper alignment marks off the camshafts and crankshaft pulleys with the installed timing belt. But there is also the electronic timing performed by the crankshaft and camshaft sensors. What is your exact issue?

The ignition timing is controlled by the PCM (computer). It's not adjustable. You need a scan tool to check ignition timing. Hope that helps! Jim

They're both correct. The ECM sets the timing, but can't mechanically correct improper t- belt cam alignment. I second TDolby's query...what's the issue?
