I have a 2001 chrysler 300 m. My car is sititng becuase i ve had issues with it starting. i tried starting the car 3 times and it immedialty shut off once it started after that it wont turn over. I tried gettign a jump start but the battery isnt the issue there is power i have it checked its at 12.8 volts. I also replaced the starter as well and still nothing. I thought it could possibly be my key but the srs light doesnt come on the dashboard not sure what it could be any ideas?

Can overheating cause a timing issue? I have a 99 chrysler 300 m?Update : I was driving on the freeway and the temp gauge hit the red so I pulled over. I let it cool and put as much water as I could considering there is a bleeder screw at the top of the block and I had no tools. I started it and drove a mile or two and the gauge hit the red again so I pulled over again. I let it cool again and put a little more water. When i tried to start it it back fired and would not start to I had it towed home.Update 2: I drained the water and cleaned the spark plugs and tried to start it but it backfired again and then just kept turning by the starter.
