2000 - 740il Nav System

Not working... individual told me it would just take a $80.00 chip to have it back running... Is this true?

I don't have a clue what was wrong with it. Why did he say that it would need an $80 chip?

this system operates via satalite to a sensor to work .i do not agree with a chip, these systems were farily new on cars in 00,may need to have new one instaled.also you could have the nav signel recever behind grill checked out.

Certainly sounds plausible, but without seeing and diagnosing it, there's no way to tell. There are a variety of potential failure points for this system.
