2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee shuts off and then restarts itself

My mother has a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it was idling in the driveway and it shut off and then
restarted itself without her touching the key. Why does this do this and what may be the cause?. It has
issues also where the gauges and air conditioning will randomly cut out while driving and on occasion
the engine will also randomly shut off while driving. So are these related and if so what could be the
cause?

your problem is most deffinatly a remote starter issue even if she doesnt have one there could have still been one installed at one point in time im guessing she has a compu star remote starter there is a setting if u hold two buttons down for 3 seconds that will cause this to happen it is for cold winter night to insure your jeep starts in the morning if u can not figure out witch two buttons to hold to turn this future off then i recomend going to AUTO TEMP or even a certified radio they will explain wat is happening and fix it for free these other issues are not related but gauges and a/c issues are either a wiring issue or there is a problem with the computer as for the engine turning off it could also mean a computer/wiring issue or as symple as replaceing a fuel filter, spark plugs, air filter it really depends if everything just shuts down or if there is power issues and it takes a min to slowly puut itself out
