Battery and Engine Light On

Asked by GuruT397G Jul 24, 2018 at 03:07 PM about the 2012 Ford Fusion SEL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My wife was driving her car and the battery light came on she continued to
drive and then the engine light came on. The car started to overheat and when
she accelerated to over 30 MPH it would shake. She immediately puller over.
Any idea on what this could be?

Serpentine Belt failure? If it failed, it'd stop running the alternator which would trigger the battery light, and stop the coolant pump which would trigger both overheating and engine light.
