Why my Nissan Altima wont accelerate pass 25 mph

Check engine light one, then I would say you are in Limp Mode. Scan for the OBDii trouble codes. Then you will know why the light is on and the car is in limp mode. An auto parts store car scan the car for free if you ask them.

So I just got back my 2009 Nissan Altima hybrid from the Nissan dealer where we have taken it ever since purchasing the car in 2009 , if My husband can’t do the work himself as he has been working on cars his whole life . Two weeks ago when the car originally malfunctioned I had just left work and not 1 block after I started my drive home , I went to turn onto the Main Street and the car just wouldn’t accelerate like normal , it only allowed me to barley make my right hand turn and thankfully a couple of more feet to get off to the side of the road where it remained for 30 minutes until I somehow managed to get it to start up like normal by ( not kidding - I found this hood ass trick on the web that worked like a charm , which I never in a million years woukd have thought it would) opening and closing the drivers side door ( but any door will work) then holding my key fob near the start button ( I don’t know if that part is necessary but I did it so I am including it ) , specifically not putting my foot on the brake as you normally would to start it , then pressing the start button , once then twice ( still no foot on brake) , then re opening the drivers side door and closing ( very important ) putting my foot on the brake this time and pressing on like normal , and the car drove home like nothing had happened . I thought it was a littke too good to be true , turns out, it was, bc on my way leaving work to go home the following day , so meaning I made it in to work in the morning just fine , then when it was time to go home , I tried using the same trick as the night before , I tried it all sorts of ways I could find on the internet for a quick fix just to get home to my husband so he could take a look , but this time no luck . Had tripper a take it to the dealer and even though my husband initially thought they were wrong in their determination that it was the fuel pump , I have now had the car back for a little over a week and no sign of a problem . Let’s of others on forums like this had stories of people saying it was the alternator ( most common seems like on web ) , or that simply it coukd just require a new battery and in one or two cases the person said if you just unplug your negative battery channel ( don’t know the lingo hopefully you understand ) and re plug them rather than buying a new battery , that it would for sone reason have them same effect as getting a new battery when it’s not actually necessary ( idk c Mmcan’t do the work myself as serviced the vehicle , and overall it had really been worth the high price bc they always fix it right and after h

Oh k ok adt my husband said you would have probably better luck searching to find the right solution on a Toyota forum bc apparently in 2009 Nissan didn’t have a hybrid option developed yet, but , bc of stricter emissions standards for all carmakers in 2009 , Nissan leased the Toyota Camry’s hybrid design and so all 2009 hybrid Nissan Altima s are really just hybrid Toyota camrys but made entitled by Nissan .. have no idea if I said that right but it’s worth a shot k good luck
