2011 audi q5 push start button grinding

When I push the start button on the console (not using key), sometimes the car
makes a grinding noise and will not start.  I have to push the start button again
to stop the noise.  I can then push it a third time and the car will start.  This is
happening more frequently and of course it will not do this when I take it to the
shop for repair.

How frequently do you see this problem? And does the EPC light come on as well?
