What could my car issue possibly be?
I've been having a repetitive issue with my 2012 Chevy Malibu LS for over 4
months now. The car issue has gotten worse over time, with all the repairs I
have had done. I've spent about $1600 over the past 3 months! Issue is car
starts and will drive fine, then randomly, will shut off, even while driving! First
problem Chevy dealer suggested was the fuel pump, had the fuel pump
changed, still had the issue the same day I picked up the car. I drove the car
to the store after picking it up, came back, car would not start. Got the car
towed back, they duplicated the issue, found out the replacement pump
was defective and the car needed a new battery, put in another fuel pump,
and a new battery.
Car drove fine for the next few weeks with no issue, then I started to have
issues with the car cutting off while I was driving. Took to Chevy dealer,
could not duplicate issue, suggested cleaning throttle plates and new air
filter, had them completed that. They also stated they greased the fuse box
in my trunk to make sure everything was connected properly. Got car back,
a couple days later, car continues to cut off while I'm driving, would not start
again. Read some posts online stating may have to beat on trunk fuse box
to get car to start, started doing that. Beating on the fuse box in the trunk
was the only way my car would start again. Called Chevy dealer, they
replaced the fuse box in the trunk, this was about three weeks ago. I have
not had any issues until tonight, car cut off while driving AGAIN! UGH! I'm so
lost as to what the issues could be, and I am tired of dumping money into
this car, fixing things that never fix my problem for good! This is my first and
last Chevy car!
Anyone have a similar situation, or have any clue about what the issue could
be? Please help!!!
