CAR & LOCK SYMBOL ON

I have a 2012 Chevy Malibu.  I am the only owner.  The car with the lock symbol have started showing up on my dash.  Since then my car has also started lagging while trying to start.  What is going on?

security system is failing.... you need a repair soon.
