loud engine

Bought a used 2012 Altima 2.5sl in 2016.  Engine was fairly quiet.  Had brakes done and a tune up in Nov 2018.    Earlier this summer (2019) I noticed the engine sound is kinda like a small plane.  It gets regular oil changes every 4-5K, a friend got in the car a few weeks and and was amazed at how load the engine it.  I haven't had any real issues with it.  110,000 miles +/-

Probably just an exhaust leak. Any rust through section on the exhaust side (pipes, muffler, cat converter, manifold) will cause an audible change in the engine noise.

@pagangal I have the exact same car with the exact same problem. Mine also started @ around 110K. Freaks me out but otherwise the car runs fine. Did you ever discover the issue? I am now at 121K
