How? Get rid of the 21st Century car and get something made back in the day- when cars were operated by the owner/driver

Are you asking about "dark mode?" It was an accessible feature in earlier models of Fords (not just police cars), but now it has to be set by the dealer, or someone who can "flash" the BCM (Body Control Module) with a tool called an IDS (Integrated Diagnostic System). Setting it into 'Police Dark Mode' will result in other changes in how your lights work after opening car doors or turning off the ignition that you may not like, such as: 1) interior-exterior (front & rear parking and cargo) lights do not come on when the door is opened and/or closed, with the exception of the door key pad still illuminating. 2) When the fob is used to lock/unlock doors, the parking lights turn-on/turn-off for a brief moment. (much shorter than normal). 3) When using the key fob to lock the doors, the horn will not sound. - I'm not sure if this is exactly what you were after, if not you'll have to make do with the features on the light control module on your dash, I believe your model had replaced the dimmer switch with a rocker switch for dash lights? Try a different setting.
