Is it possible to have a speed sensor adapted when particular speed sensor no longer exists

Asked by GuruVTGTQ Aug 13, 2018 at 11:24 AM about the 2004 Ford Escape XLS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ford Escape 2004 manual transmission speed sensor
discontinued and not available anywhere. What are my
options? Can anyone “adapt” one to work?

I was excited when I saw it on ebay, but it turns out to be the one my mechanic had already ordered and discovered it to not be the right one. Thanks for your reply, though.
