Asked by 505_snoopy Dec 23, 2014 at 06:21 PM about the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car is at 85,500 miles I recently started
having misfire in #1 cylinder.
I replace the spark plus & ignition lines. The
coils are good packs good.
Could the be a vacuum leak manifold leak?
Epc light flashes during misfires I'll be
pushing the peddle down rpms go up &  the
car won't gain speed ...... it doesnt have
turbo & is not deisel.

I would really like someone else's input I've
already lost a lot of cash takin it in to the
dealership

well im not 100% familure with the later modal cars but i will be soon since i jsut bought a new 2012 2.5L modal but my best guess is with most of these cars they are all 5 in a line Use a volt meter to monitor the coil packs for voltage, also try cleaning your MAF sensor since this can cause missfires as well if its dirty. Try to pull the code if you can a regular obd tool won't do it either. You need a grab yourself a wire harness from amazaon and download the software from this web site. http://www.ross-tech.com/ your going to need a laptop to diagnos your car so make sure you have one. this is the best way to find the issue with your car if its not vacum related. At best it could be a craked air hose.
