how do I stop the ticking sound in my 2002 audi  engine

Change the oil and filter. Add some Sea Foam. Let it idle for a half-hour. Change it again. Dandyong has had good luck with that formula.

The Audi is an overly complicated piece of machinery- have the valves adjusted- if the noise is still there- sell it- you will be glad you did-

Ticking noises in any vehicle could mean a push rod is loose. A push rod is an important part of your piston working. If you are interested in learning more about what it is and it's functions, Google "push rod". Bottom note, if you aren't mechanically savvy take the car to the shop. It's not an easy fix or something to tinker with.
