Car shakes/shudders when accelerating from a complete stop.

Asked by Jus Oct 23, 2018 at 03:49 PM about the 2003 Audi A6 3.0 Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Whenever I'm stopped and I accelerate even a
little, I notice a very subtle shaking/shudder in my
car or engine to where i have to let off of the gas
for a quick second and then let back on it for it to
drive normal. There is also a noise coming from my
car sounding like a flat spot or vibration from my
tires or somewhere else and my steering wheel
and seats shake at about 65 mph. could it be and
is it dangerous?

Sounds like a few issues going on. The first might be bad motor mounts. The second for the shaking at 65 could be anything from an alignment problems to worn suspension parts such as tie rods, tires out of balance, or even a wheel bearing issue. So have a look as those items and yes if you have suspension problems it is a safety concern. Good Luck!
