Help, new battery... Smoking alternator
Replaced alternator several months ago. Battery
light came on several weeks ago while driving. It
would still start and drive and never died while
running. Went to store shut it off came back out
completely dead, no power at all. Got a new battery
, when installed connected postive to positive and
when I went to connect the negative/ground it
sparked and white smoke came from alternator
area, I instantly removed then connection to the
battery.
What would cause the battery to spark upon
connecting negative terminal?
What would cause alternator to smoke?
What should I do next, I need my car up and
running I'm a single mom.
