Mini Countryman 2012 70K miles

My engine light is on - after servicing - it runs jerky - it is a standard - but I'm
not a bad driver - a few times the 1/2 engine light has come on - & for a short
period the speed reduced to max of 45 while I was on the highway - I thought
it was the gas - it hasn't been to that degree since - but it is definitelyskipping
or sputtering
