Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Now driving down the road at 70
mph the check engine light came on
and the car downshifted and
dropped below 55 mph. Wouldn't let
me accelerate past 60 without the
car shaking like crazy. I pulled over
and turned off the car and then
restarted it and it was fine, but it did
it again. We had the codes ran and it
said the cam shaft sensor ?

Any ideas on what could be causing
this issue ??

The Cam Position Sensor. It's not a big job and the part is cheap. Fix the Neon then sell it. Horable cars.

The question I had, sorry I didn't say it before. Could this sensor make the car do that? Make the vehicle go from 70 to 55 and won't accelerate ? I know I can change the part, but just wanted to make sure I shouldn't be looking anyplace else as well.
