Battery light

My battery light came on so i replaced the battery
and now when i turn the ignition on before starting
the battery light doesnt appear and the battery isnt
charging , if the bulb has blown will this stop the
alternator from charging the batteries or could it be
something else, honda accord wiring is usually
pretty good but then so are dash bulbs ,any help
would be much appreciated

Yes it will, Its called a "light circut" and is required to complete the circut. Power is trying to fight its way up both sides of the bulb (alternator on one side and battery on the other), when one side overpowers the other the light comes on
