My change oil message popped up on the dash. I am not due for an oil change for another 3000 miles. What is going on here?

To those of you that say you have tried to repeat the process. And the did not work more than likely it's because you don't have the key in the right spot. There is the ACC spot and the spot that says run. Be sure you put it only run spot
