Has anyone else had a problem losing things in the console?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've had my FX about 4 months now and love it, but I've had one small issue.  The console/armrest in between the front seats has a small upper storage area and a much larger lower area.  To get to the lower area the upper area flips up.  I thought that upper area would be a great spot of all the "loyalty cards" that you get from your grocery store, coffee shop, car wash, restaurants, etc.  I'm not one to lose things, but I kept losing these cards and it was driving me crazy.

A few weeks ago, I opened the larger compartment and saw one of my cards sticking out of the back, just about to fall through a seam in the console and down into an "abyss"!  I can't see them, let alone how to get them out.

My dealer recommended that I get in the back seat and take off the panel with the two vents and the accessory jack.  I thought that would do it, but they are going in above that.

Has anyone else had this problem and been able to retrieve their lost items?

I'd prefer not to be charged an hour or more labor, at dealership rates, and was hoping to do it myself.

Thanks for your help!

Try an Infinity forum. They should have some DIY instructions for removing parts of the console. Great place to other info too. --- http://www.infinitifx.org/ ---- http://www.infinitiscene.com ---- http://infinitiforum.net/infiniti-forum/forumdisplay.php?f=15

Another answer is to put a piece of electrical tape over the opening and get replacement cards.
