Why did my starter go out?

The key in my 2004 Dodge Stratus was not turning.
I fixed the lock cylindersl, the ignition switch and
the ignition actuator. The key turned and all my
accessories turn on but the car won't start. It's
been a few days since the car has been touch and
it was working fine before the changes were made.
Can a starter just go out?

If your saying the starter motor won't crank the engine? I'd have to check the starter motor wiring circuits, voltage and ground. Make sure battery has a full charge. It could be that you tripped the anti-theft/security system when you worked on it? If that is the case, I doubt I can help. Most makes and models I can usually get the starter motor to crank as long as the starter isn't faulty and the engine isn't seized, but, if the security system is the problem, even if you get it to crank, it's still not going to start. Any testing at the starter, make sure tranny is in park or neutral and the parking brake is set.
