Why won't rear liftgate open/close in really cold weather?

Asked by SuburbanOwner Jan 05, 2015 at 07:56 AM about the 2012 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 LTZ 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When temp is near zero or below the rear liftgate will not open when I use the remote or
button up front.  When I manually open the liftgate it will not close when using the remote
or inside button or button on the door itself.  Other times it works as it should.  Solution?
