I have replaced the cam sensor twice and no start condition exhists...have cleared codes with my scanner and still shows code P0340 with a crank but no start condition....Am stumped with 0340 code., 6 Answers

We just purchased a used 1995 Dodge Neon and we are having problems with it. The problem is the car will drive for approximately 15 to 20 minutes and the engine begins to jump and miss. When this occurs, we stop the car and let it cool for 10 to 15 minutes and then it will go for about 8 miles (10 to 15 minutes) and will start missing and jumping again. We took it to advance auto and they used a computer diagnostic machine and told us the ignition coil was malfunctioning, so we replaced it but it is still doing the same thing (missing and jumping). My wife says she smells a gas/fuel smell when it starts. Also, thought I had water in the gas tank, so I used dry gas but that didn't help either. Do the 1995 Neon's have a particular problem that sounds like mine? Thank you for any help you can give. 5 Answers
