Engine repair

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently the engine went out in the car. I took it in for repair, but every time
I went to pick up the car the check engine light was still on. And also got an
error code that the purge valve needed to be changed as well as new
wiring. So of course, at this point I just want my car repaired. So after a
month or so, I go back to get my car, and check engine light is still on.
Come to find out, the wrong engine was put into my car.

So my question is how many engines fit this series? And should I request
my money back because the other repairs made to my car were possibly
not needed because they were repaired because the wrong engine was
put in? Need help understanding....

Since you put forth the money for all this repair, I would think this shop would make it right without any other expense. It's got to be done anyway. Looks like there are 3 different engines that could go in there. They should have run the vin number to know which engine goes into your car.
