my dodge stratus 2003 rt wont shift into gear when its cold but when it warms up its fine

usually happens in morning when really cold when it warms up works all day then happens again if sits to long in
cold or nxt morning

Get the fluid and filter changed at a transmission shop. Have them check it out when the pan is off.

Sounds like your tranny filter is dirty and will not let the fluid flow when it is cold tranny fluid like other liguids they get a little thicker when it cold out

We have changed fluid there is no filter in my 2003 dodge stratus RT 2DR COUPE AUTOMATIC & STICK SHIFT

All automatic trans have a filter you have to pull the pan it's bolted to the bottom of the inside of the trans. Stick shift? Do you mean slap stick auto? or is it a auto trans or a 4 or 5 speed stick? with a clutch? If car is dieing when you put it in gear it would be more of a engine problem than a trans problem
