Get the fluid and filter changed at a transmission shop. Have them check it out when the pan is off.
Check out this thread. It has a couple of solutions that could be helpful. http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-t4486_ds37520
i just read that thread mines an automatic
Sounds like your tranny filter is dirty and will not let the fluid flow when it is cold tranny fluid like other liguids they get a little thicker when it cold out
All so make sure your fluid level is up where it should be
the most common cause of this is improper fluid level.
Car. Starts. But dies. When. U put it into gear
We have changed fluid there is no filter in my 2003 dodge stratus RT 2DR COUPE AUTOMATIC & STICK SHIFT
All automatic trans have a filter you have to pull the pan it's bolted to the bottom of the inside of the trans. Stick shift? Do you mean slap stick auto? or is it a auto trans or a 4 or 5 speed stick? with a clutch? If car is dieing when you put it in gear it would be more of a engine problem than a trans problem
