2012 Impreza check engine, traction, on with blinking cruise control.

Asked by NewbieSubie Apr 23, 2020 at 07:59 PM about the 2012 Subaru Impreza 2.0i Sport Limited Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just bought this car used, has about 98k miles. The check engine light and traction light are on steady. The cruise control is blinking and not functional.  Plugged in the code reader and got P0455. I checked the gas cap. This isn't the issue. No other codes present. Any ideas?

There is a leak in the EVAP system. Double check the gas cap and look at the gasket.

I replaced the fuel cap, reset the code and it came back on after a drive cycle. I took it to a Subaru dealership. They ran it through a smoke test and found a leak somewhere. It ended up costing me $1087.00 to fix it! $42.00 for the part and $990.00 in labor costs for less then 3 hours of work. I think the creep that sold me the car should have to pay this bill. But anyway, it seems to be fixed now.
