02 Durango RT can I drive in awd if I disconnect tcase?

No front driveshaft for over year been
drvn in 4hi now it makes grinding
winding sound won't go. 4Lo works
though and at times I switch it and it
goes in d but jumps out d 3secs starts
worse grind when I hit brakes..,sitting
still.,fluid or gearoil inside tbps
electrical? Code 0455 in Odom

Well I would check the transfer case gears and the main drive shaft the grinding is probloy coming from the transfer case that is were the main gears are check there first

I have the same exact problem on same model Durango I just got off phone with transmission shop where I had it towed yesterday he said the hub in the tcase!! I still would like to have the tbps checked to see if it's bad he said he didn't do engine work only trannys what an Awhole..I want to put drive shaft back in front but don't know if the tcase is needed for that also

Ok it finally cracked just a little bit of fluid came out dark and milky but no odor of burnt fluid I think it maybe was just low in fluid can I JB weld it
