2012 CRV with 113 k miles. Started making a metallic sqealing sound in the driver's side rear yesterday afternoon. Worse in stop-and-go traffic, extremely worse when reversing. Seems to lessen when driving on highway. Not the brakes, taking in for service Friday but worried I'm doing more damage by driving. Any ideas?

It sure sounds like rear brakes needing replacing, but also it could be a rear wheel bearing gone bad. Either or you would have some unpleasant noise.

Honda crv'aps Honda CR-V 's suck. 5 brake jobs and wheel bearing job done in a span of 2 years! And no recall?! I've owned 8 Honda's. No more! That's it! Done! Very disappointed in you Honda!
