Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, it has 225,000 miles on it. will taking
off the throttle body and completely cleaning it out, enhance the acceleration or way the
vehicle drives?

Tom is right on the money here. Cleaning the Throttle body and/or the IAC will only make it easier for the Computer to maintain a proper idle - especially when you turn on accessories like the AC or headlights. On a side note - I just spent the last 2 days maintaining and repairing an '03 PI for active duty. For some reason, the department is pulling all of the mothballed Crown Vics and making them ready for action again. Great, reliable and rebuildable cars! (Except when you get them airborne!)

totally agree. I have a 95 town car which has the 4.6l as does the crown vics. I have taken the throttle body off and you wouldn't believe the gunk is the channel. use throttle body cleaner, of course plugging the hole with a rag. I also changed the egr valve which isn't an easy task. makes a whole lot difference.
