Have 2013 Ford Escape and the shifter is stuck on park. Advice on how to get it out of park.

Work was done on driver side airbag and console was removed, when
everything put back car starts but shifter stuck on park.

Do you have a console shifter? I think the console will have to come out to find the problem. The shifter is either out of adjustment or something is interfering with its operation.
