can i put a 235/60R18 on a vehicle that had 245/60R18 originals?

sure- just a little narrower- all other dimensions the same

Yes but why? You may increase the stopping distance a bit and lose a little cornering ability.

Thanks for the info. I am about ready to replace and someone has a set with very few miles, but they were the different size
