heat and air only work when on highest/lowest temp.

Asked by Kerry Mar 11, 2019 at 09:38 AM about the 2013 Ford Explorer XLT

Question type: General

to get my heat to work, I have to bump the temp setting all the way up to
high, then I cannot back it down any cooler.  It gets stuck on high heat.
Same way with the AC.  I have to turn it all the way down to low setting, then
it is stuck on lowest cool.  So, basically, I can have it either really cold or
really hot, but no in between.  Fan speed works fine and temp comes out of
driver and passenger side evenly.  Any suggestions?

Thanks for responding. I had read other things online about this issue, but all of them stated that the vents on driver's side and passenger side were blowing two different temps. That is not my experience, so was not sure that this would apply to my issue. I also read that the whole dashboard has to be removed to fix. Is that the case?

Kerry, I am having the same issue and can not seem to fix it. What did you end up doing. Thank you

I'm having this issue too, has anyone found a resolution? All of the questions I have found for this issue don't have any responses.
