Can I use 5w30 synthetic in my 2013 Dodge Dart
that has 5w40 synthentic written on thee cap

If it says 5w40 on the oil cap. why would you want to run anything else?

use 5w30 and your lifters will go flat after a week or two. Similar to lifter issues encountered on diesel engines. Stick with 5w40 and avoid a problem where no oil pressure leads to flat lifters and zero compression and fire
