2013 Sorento Noise - HELP

Asked by 2013Sorento Jul 11, 2018 at 09:43 PM about the 2013 Kia Sorento EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi all, can anyone solve the issue I’m having? Take a
shot...I have a 2013 Sorento that has an issue driving me
insane. Here goes...there’s a chirping sound from the
driver’s side of my vehicle that sounds like a loud cricket.
It happens when I hit even slight variations in road
surface, eg cracks, split pavement, etc. Here’s the catch -
it’s only when it’s warm or hot out and when my tank is a
little more than half full (or less). It used to occur at about
less than 45 mph, but now I’m hearing it on the highway
at higher speeds. I’ve had it looked at by several
mechanics at my service dept, and they can’t figure it out.
Can you? Has anyone had a similar noise and been able
to diagnose?

It's the sensor in the door. Mine did the samething. I tapped it and then usesuper glue to stop the chirping.

So how did you do that? Open the door panel or is it somewhere on the periphery of the door? What sensor is it? Thanks!

Hey, I know this thread is old, but I'm having exactly the same problem on my 2013 Sorento. Anyone knows any idea how to fix the issue? Or where exactly it's coming from? Thanks.
