I have a 2001 Durango SLT 5.9, will a 2000 Durango 5.9 motor work in it? What would the differences be between the two engines?

Question type: General

My 2001 Durange needs an engine, I have a good engine from a 2000 Durange, both are 5.9,  both are 4WD,
Would this work? Does it need any modifications?  Thank You for any help.  Cherie

yes it will work. there may be a sensor or two and maybe a bracket that has to be swapped from the old 2001 into the used 2000 motor but it is the same motor and will be perfect replacement
