transmission holds in gear and will not shift up. RPM goes into 5800 rpm, and I havde to let off or hit the up shift selector on stering wheel.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Why does it not shift up with out letting off or hitting shift paddle.

This is a problem to take to a Subaru dealer. I do not know of any shop that can service the Subaru CVT except Subaru and they usually just replace them rather than repair them.
