Oil leak

Asked by StarvinMarvin Aug 27, 2015 at 11:38 PM about the 2000 Dodge Intrepid R/T FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My mechanic was doing an oil
change on my car and he
accidentally busted something
underneath the oil filter. Now it's
leaking constantly. He says they
don't make the part that needs to be
replaced, a bearing of some sort, so
I'm trying to figure out how to
Jerryrig it for a few months until I get
rid of the car.  He doesn't know the
name of the part, would you guys
know?

You do know His name ... Make the SOB find the part and provide you a rental .... He broke it and he must fix it

Seriously if you took it to a friend say you took it to a friend as to what you could have possibly have broken while changing the oil or the oil filter is beyond me i could not imagine anything that could be broken or go wrong... Are you sure he didn't cross thread the oil filter or something stupid, and trust me it does happen.. I had a brand new motor put in my car because a certain body shop didn't put my oil plug back in before they gave it to me...but an oil leak from a simple task isn't normal the threads will give on the filter before the block its a dummy proof kind of thing... Nothing else jack it up find the leak... .. Short story short ;) if u got it done at a shop the shop pays for it.. If not its your problem... However don't be that dude that sells a busted vehicle...thats just gay..
