Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2013 Impala with 79,000 miles on it, when I shift it from Park to Drive, there
is about a 3 second pause before it shifts.  I have not had the transmission
fluid level checked yet, because the car apparently needs to be put on a lift to
do that.  Does anyone think the shifting pause might be related to low
transmission fluid?

It could be. I'd have the fluid level checked and if the fluid appears burnt or smells burnt have the fluid and filter changed. Do not let anyone flush the transmission fluid! No matter what you're told flushing the transmission fluid is often the kiss of death for the transmission!! If the fluid level and condition of the fluid is good, I'd leave it alone. Hope that helps! Jim
