Does a 2013 Chevy Silverado have a fuel filter outside of
the tank

I believe because of emissions regulations they were required to move the filter to the pump inside of the tank, which means if you are replacing it yourself you have to drop the tank to access the pump. If you want to double check your specific year model to make sure - older gm fuel filters outside of the tank would be located on the driver side somewhere along the frame rail near the middle to rear.

Looks to me it is the same old filter which is located on the frame under the drivers side door.
