1999 dodge durango 5.9L

i have a 1999 dodge durango 5.9L 4x4. i havent done any off roading yet but my part time 4x4 light comes on the dash board when im in 2wd. ill pull over and put the truck into nutral and shift through the 4x4 gears, the light will go off for a couple of days or a week then come back on and ill have to go through the whole process again. can anyone tell me what this means thanks

I have a 2002 Durango so it´s very different, it was changed in 2001. I think you should go to http://durangoclub.com/ and click on D.O.C forum III and pop the question there. You can sign up for free or be a paying member it´s up to you. It is the best and friendliest club I have ever been in. Good luck hope you will get it fixed.
