Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi I have a dodge 1998 dakota 2 wheel drive. I have tried about 3 used fuel pumps one
of them ran for about a year the next one ran for like a hour the next one ran for 2 days
and next one ran for about a half an hour then died. At first we where thinking it was
the fuel regulator on the assembly. next we bought a brandnew pump today and it wont
even start. At the front of the engine next to the injectiors is a pressure release valve
for when the pump starts up where getting no pressure there. We have checked the
relays there fine we also dicconected the battery and turn the light on for a minute to
reset the computer. So we are stumped. My father thinks the computer is bad anyone
else ever have this issue? we also multi metered the plug to the pump and we get the
readings just fine. So can someone help us figure this out ? Please and thank you to
anyone who replies it may take me a bit to reply back because im not car literate my
father is and he is stumped. so thanks
