I have a 1998 dodge durango and we had to change out the drivers door and now the alarm keeps going off and kills the engine so I can't go any where. The mechanics of the door are all the orginal to the vehicle just the window motor is different. Why is the alarm not disabling with the orginal key and lock?

I believe you have to disarm the VTSS (vehicle theft security system). The VTSS may have entered power-up mode, and if it was armed prior to you removing the door or battery, it now has to be actively disarmed (your owner's manual will have the proper procedure for that). If the VTSS is disabled by the central timer module (CTM) it will require a DRB scan tool to re-enable it. Quick question, when you open/close the door do you hear a clicking in the area of the glove box?

i would double check and make sure the cable didn't pop off on the back side of the door lock itself i have seen that happen before they just push on.
