I turned my mini off as I usually do.. push the button popped out the key bob.. left the garage door open and took my garbage can to the street... came in pressed the garage door closer.. went in the house.. came back out 3 min later and the car was running.tried to turn it off by pressing the start button a couple time .. didn't shut off.. went to get the key bob and when I came out it turned itself off... any ideas folks?

It has to be getting a signal elsewhere? are you in possession of both any and all key fobs? and does you garage door operate on a signal? Do you have all the remotes for that? what if a remote or fob were stuck somewhere or someone else had one? I don't know. a similar signal can interfere, when the cell phone rings on the kitchen counter, the tv goes... eeerrrrrzzzzzzccccfrgdfrd, so are they calling the cable box? I don't know that either. Shielding and level of sophistication of electronics has been the verbal answer, but no help here yet. I made a reynolds wrap hat.

Most probably what you heard was the radiator fan engaging becasue of faulty collant thermostat sensor, and not really the engine starting by itself, This will be followed by hard starting. The sensor should be replaced cost about USD25. DIY would be a bit tricky though.
