The most important thing is regular oil changes. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for the time and mileage for the oil changes. Regular tune ups are important too. Use name brand gasoline. Driving habits are important too. Don't zoom away from stop lights, avoid pot holes as much as possible, don't constantly slam the brakes on to stop, things like that. Don't flush the cooling system, unless you're having a problem with overheating and never flush the automatic transmission! It's been my experience, especially with an older model, that flushing the cooling system will almost always open up leaks and flushing the transmission is the kiss of death! Many times the dirt and junk in the transmission helps keep it working because worn parts in there still have something to grab onto to keep going. Check ebay for an owner's manual if you don't have one and read the maintenance schedule part. That will help you too. Jim
