So I have a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5L SE. Both of
my brake lights are not working. They are
connected with my rear turn signal bulbs (which are
working), but whenever I brake, my lower brake
lights do not work — my third brake light is working
properly. My car manual does not include a fuse
diagram, nor does the back fuse panel have a
diagram so I’m unsure what fuse I’m looking for, to
rule out fuse issues. My second guess would be
bad turn-signal switch? I thought about the brake
light switch also being a possibility as well, but my
third brake light is working. Any thoughts? Also any
help with a good fuse diagram for my car would be
helpful as well.

I’m starting to believe there is a short somewhere. The hazard lights are functional, my lower brake lights do not operate with the flashers / turn signals. I change the bulbs, the worked however a bit later they no longer worked and I smacked the light fixture and they worked again...
