2013 vw Jetta ignition
Asked by Brock Jul 13, 2016 at 09:13 PM about the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta SE
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I need to replace the ignition or ignition switch on
my automatic 2013 2.5L VW Jetta. The key won't
turn back to turn the car off. Does anyone know the
approximate price range for getting it replaced at
the dealer?
Thanks to anyone and everyone who replies!

Try for warranty work... 2013 Volkswagen Jetta / Warranty 3 yr / 36,000 mi basic, 5 yr / 60,000 mi powertrain Also call VW customer service.
Yeah I just went over on the mileage, 63,000. I'll call them tomorrow. Thanks!

I am having the same issue with a 2013 VW Beetle and it is going to cost me $712,00 taxes in, I live in Nova Scotia, The part (ordered from the us) is 300.00 remainder is labour and taxes
Same issue with my 2012 VW Jetta SE. The key will not turn in the ignition either on or off, worse when it is hot outside. I am over the warranty on mileage; did you ned up getting it fixed?
2012 and 2013 VW Jetta has Extended the ignition switch warranty for this problem, but it will not be available if you have over 100,000 miles. Some VW dealerships either are not aware of this or they just play ignorant. VW of America said that they will reimburse you for all expenses that you inquired if this problem happens. Towing, independent repair shops, new key fob if it was broken while trying to turn off the switch. Contact VW of America.
Mine cost $780 plus the cost of towing and car rental..
