Question type: Maintenance & Repair

have a 89 Toyota 22 R engine with fuel injection was running good but had a lot of rain and cold lately an went out to start it and it turns over and over but wont start . Just had new battery put in and a new starter. I might have pumped it to many times because it is flooded now . Some one told me when starting in cold weather on a fuel injection you should push the gas peddle all the way to the floor once then turn the key to start it?? I haven't tried it yet but is that right??

OK , I will try it in the morning, that is not touching the gas peddle. I did get new wires and plugs and new battery. I think I messed it up when I started to pump the gas peddle, not thinking it was a FI engine. Thank you for your advice, Iwill let you know what happens .
