ram radio cuts in and out

Asked by Guru7C41W Jun 10, 2020 at 10:18 AM about the 2012 RAM 1500 Tradesman Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

the am/fm radio is on but nothing comes out of the speakers.  The satellite radio works so the connection between the radio and speakers is ok.

I just had this issue with my 2011. I'm not entirely sure 5m of the cause, but the stock radios are not the greatest. I had taken mine to the dealer and they said it was just dirt in it. However I ended up putting an aftermarket pioneer radio in and everything works fine. The technician that installed my radio said that he believed the stock radio had some broken connections inside around the radio antenna connection point.
