I am not sure what you have or haven't done to prepare you car to run again. It would need a new battery or a full charge on its current battery which resulted in the battery testing as being good. Terminals need to be clean and tight. A fuel additive or stabilizer should be added to that full tank. The fact that it was full tank is a good thing, there was less room for condensation to form on the inside, contaminating the gas. Vacuum lines, belts and hoses should be checked to see if they are cracked or broken, Check all fluids. Some people suggest pulling the spark plugs and giving each cylinder a squirt of a penetrating oil before you turn the engine over the first time. This also allows you to check and clean the plugs. Plug wires and distributor, and other wiring also needs to be checked for cracks and loose connections, particularly ground connections. IF your cranking well, and is turning over but not firing you can give a squirt of starting fluid down the air intake, then try to start it. If the problem is fuel related and not electrical, the engine should kick as if it was going to start, or may actually run for a few seconds. If the problem is electrical, starting fluid will make no difference...it will continue to crank after starting fluid is added, just like it did before. I hope this helps.
Its was sitting in a garage for 9 years the 1 year outside but it had a bad motor so i bought a new one and already put it in but now it cranks but no gas is getting to the motor
I took out the fuel pump today and it was completly rusted and the tank has rust inside too
There you go...don't forget to change the fuel filter and flush out the fuel lines before you install your new fuel pump and rehang the tank. With the time span we are talking about take time to inspect the fuel line from end to end while you under there to insure there are no other problems from corrosion or decay. Sounds like it should be running in no time.
that gas is junk you need to drain the tank and clean it out and then dry it as good as possible also I would run a half can if not more of seafoam through a fresh tank of fuel to break down all the crap in the llines and injectors,, you need to change the fuel filter as well,, you never should of tried to start that car with that old of gas in it,
Finally it starter with a new fuel pump and sending unit
your not running that same old assed gas in there though are you?
No i bought a brank new tank cause the old one had rust inside of it
nice,,, might wanna run a bottle of seafoam through a full tank of gas to clean all the crap out of the fuel lines ,, gald you got it running though
I had faith in you with that tank...I figured if you couldn't get it cleaned out properly you would replace it. Glad to hear you its up and running.
